Montenegrin greenhouse gas emissions are projected to reach 2.76 million metric tons by 2026. This marks an increase of 0.9% year-on-year since 2021, when emissions stood at 2.62 million metric tons. Since 2010, Montenegrin emissions have grown by 4% each year. In 2021, Montenegro was in 126th place in global emissions rankings, just behind Haiti, which emitted 2.62 million metric tons. The United States, India and Russia round out the top three spots in the rankings.
