Finnish demand for glass fiber is set to decline by 7.6% in the next five years. In 2021, the country consumed 932,260 Kilograms of the material, and by 2026 this number is projected to drop to 590,210 Kilograms. This follows an average 6.2% yearly increase since 1993. Meanwhile, Finnish glass fiber exports are also expected to decrease, falling by 4.4% from 2021 to 2026. Last year, the country exported 7,104,400 Kilograms of the material. This placed Finland in 19th place worldwide, with Denmark taking the lead with 7,104,400 Kilograms. Belgium, Germany and Saudi Arabia came in second, third and fourth respectively.
