Ghanaian imports of moulding sand decreased dramatically in 2018, dropping by 83.1% to just over 92,000 kilograms, down from 547,500 kilograms the previous year. Despite this significant dip, the country's demand for moulding sand has increased annually since 2001. Morocco overtook Ghana in 2018, coming in at number 42 in the global ranking. Germany, Japan, and Nigeria placed second, third, and fourth, respectively.
