Burundi's maize production is expected to reach 343,290 metric tons by 2026, growing at a rate of 2.5% a year. This follows an upward trend since 1966, when the country had a 4% year-on-year production increase. In 2021, Burundi ranked 84th in maize production with 297,180 metric tons. Cuba surpassed Burundi with the same amount. China, Brazil and Argentina were the top three producers, respectively.
