Taiwan's maize consumption is expected to reach 200,000 metric tons by 2026, up 0.1% from 197,000 metric tons in 2021. Demand has grown by an average of 0.7% a year since 2017, when the country was 71st in the rankings. Uzbekistan was ahead of Taiwan in 2021 with 197,000 metric tons, while India, China and Indonesia were 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Taiwan's maize production is forecast to reach 190,000 metric tons by 2026, a 0.7% rise from 182,000 metric tons in 2021. Output has grown by 2% a year since 1966, when it was 92nd in the rankings. Syria was ahead of Taiwan in 2021 with 182,000 metric tons, while China, Brazil and Argentina were 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
