Maize consumption in Togo is projected to reach 650,000 metric tons by 2026, growing at an average rate of 0.6% a year since 2017. Algeria overtook Togo in 2021 at 628,000 metric tons, while India, China and Indonesia took the top three spots in the ranking. Meanwhile, Togo's maize production is estimated to hit 1,052,000 metric tons by 2026, increasing at a rate of 1.7% annually since 1966. Zimbabwe was the top producer in 2021 with 951,370 metric tons, followed by China, Brazil and Argentina.
