Barbadian maize production is on track to reach just 5,000 metric tons in 2021, a staggering 80.5% drop from the 25,650 metric tons in 2020. Since 1966, the country's maize supply has decreased by a total of 44.6%. Barbados placed 161st out of all countries in the 2021 ranking, falling behind Guam with 5,000 metric tons. China, Brazil, and Argentina respectively took the top three spots. In 2018, Barbadian maize consumption was 3,000 metric tons, the same as in 2017. The country ranked 130th in 2018, with Mauritius coming in ahead at 3,000 metric tons. India, China, and Indonesia took the top three spots in the ranking.
