Haitian maize consumption looks set to increase slightly over the next five years. Last year, 261,000 metric tons were consumed and this is set to reach 266,000 metric tons by 2026. Since 2017, Haitian demand has risen by an average of 0.3% year on year. The situation for maize production looks less positive. Last year, 216,110 metric tons were produced and this is expected to drop to 198,310 metric tons over the next five years. This represents a decrease of 1.4% year on year on average since 1966.
