Somalia's maize production is set to drop significantly by 2026. Compared to 2021's 54,960 metric tons, the country will produce 27,380 metric tons - a 10.9% decrease year-on-year. This downward trend has been going on since 1966 at an average rate of 1.7% per year. In 2021, Somalia ranked 107th in maize production, overtaken by Belize. China, Brazil and Argentina followed in second, third and fourth respectively.
