Estonians are set to consume 16 thousand metric tons of maize by 2026, according to figures released this week. Demand has been increasing slightly year-on-year, with an average growth rate of 1.3%. However, since 2017, demand has decreased by 2.1%. In 2021, Estonia was ranked 118th in terms of maize consumption, with Mauritania just ahead at 15 thousand metric tons. India, China and Indonesia held the top three spots, respectively.
