Hungarian maize production is set to reach 8.7 million metric tons by 2026. This growth is projected to average 0.8% each year from 2021 to 2026. Since 1966, however, yearly production has decreased by an average of 1.1%. In 2021, Hungary was the 16th largest producer of maize in the world. Ethiopia produced 8.3 million metric tons, overtaking Hungary. China, Brazil and Argentina were the second, third and fourth largest producers respectively.
