Indonesian maize consumption is expected to reach 8 million metric tons by 2026. This is an increase of 1.1% from the 7.6 million metric tons estimated for 2021. Since 2017, demand for maize in Indonesia has increased yearly at an average rate of 1.3%. In 2021, the country ranked fourth in annual consumption, behind China in first with 7.6 million metric tons. India, China and Indonesia ranked second, third and fourth respectively. Indonesian maize production is projected to reach 38.8 million metric tons by 2026, a 2.7% year-on-year CAGR. Since 1966, production has grown annually by 7%. In 2021, Ukraine topped the ranking with 33.1 million metric tons, while China, Brazil and Argentina placed second, third and fourth respectively.
