Serbian maize consumption is expected to reach 261,000 metric tons by 2026, up from 256,000 metric tons in 2021. This growth rate of 0.3% per year is slightly higher than the average since 2017, when the demand grew at a rate of 0.5% per year. In 2021, Serbia ranked 66th in maize consumption, with Haiti ahead in the rankings at 256,000 metric tons. India, China and Indonesia were respectively the 2nd, 3rd and 4th highest consumers. Serbian maize production is forecast to reach 7,776,300 metric tons by 2026, up from 7,262,200 metric tons in 2021. This increase of 1.2% per year is slightly lower than the average since 2011, when the supply decreased by 0.3% each year. In 2021, Serbia placed 19th in maize production, with Pakistan ahead in the rankings at 7,262,200 metric tons. China, Brazil and Argentina respectively were the 2nd, 3rd and 4th highest producers.
