Egyptian alcoholic drink consumption is projected to rise to approximately 5,400 metric tons by 2028, up from 5,000 metric tons in 2023. This represents an annual growth rate of 1%. Since 2019, the demand for alcoholic beverages in Egypt has remained stable. In 2023, Egypt ranked 95th in global alcoholic drink consumption, with Lebanon surpassing it at the same 5,000 metric tons mark. Notably, India, Japan, and Russia occupied the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively, in this ranking. On the export front, Egypt's alcoholic drink exports are expected to reach around $32 million by 2028, up from $30 million in 2023. This marks an average annual growth rate of 0.8%. Since 1999, the country's alcoholic drink supply has grown at an average rate of 1.4% per year.
