Zimbabwe's consumption of alcoholic drinks is projected to rise modestly, reaching approximately 63,500 metric tons by 2028, up from around 63,000 metric tons in 2023. This represents an average annual growth rate of 0.1%. However, since 2019, the country's demand for alcoholic beverages has declined by 0.6% per year. In the global ranking for 2023, Zimbabwe holds the 31st position, with Hungary surpassing it at 63,000 metric tons. India, Japan, and Russia occupy the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively. On the export front, Zimbabwe's alcoholic drink exports have seen a significant decrease. In 2023, exports were valued at approximately $1.2 million, a sharp decline from about $1.5 million in 2022, marking a 21.5% drop over the year. Since 2000, the country's supply has decreased by an average of 16.7% annually.
