This forecast suggests an annual decline rate of nearly 12%. The downward trend in export figures is not new for Cabo Verde. Since 2002, the country's supply of alcoholic beverages has been consistently decreasing at an average rate of 8% per year. On the domestic front, Cabo Verde's alcoholic drink consumption remained stable. In 2018, the consumption level was recorded at 1,000 metric tons, unchanged from the previous year, 2017.
