Namibia's alcoholic drink consumption is projected to grow modestly over the next five years. By 2028, consumption is expected to reach approximately 11,300 metric tons, up from 11,000 metric tons in 2023. This represents an average annual growth rate of 0.4%. Since 2019, the demand for alcoholic beverages in Namibia has remained stable. In 2023, Namibia ranked 80th globally, with Mozambique surpassing it by also consuming 11,000 metric tons. India, Japan, and Russia held the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively, in the global rankings. On the export front, Namibia faces a significant decline. Alcoholic drink exports are forecasted to drop to around $34.5 million by 2028, a steep fall from $60.7 million in 2023. This decline translates to an average annual decrease of 9%. The downward trend in exports has been consistent since 2005, with a year-on-year drop averaging 7.9%.
