Burmese alcoholic drink consumption is projected to climb to approximately 34,000 metric tons by 2028, up from 30,000 metric tons in 2023. This marks an average annual growth of 1.8%. The demand for alcoholic beverages in Burma has been on a steady rise, increasing at an average rate of 0.7% per year since 2019. In the global ranking for 2023, Burma held the 46th position, with Costa Rica surpassing it at 30,000 metric tons. Leading the list were India, Japan, and Russia, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots respectively. On the export front, Burmese alcoholic drink exports are expected to reach around $11 million by 2028, up from nearly $9 million in 2023. This represents a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.4%. Since 2015, the country's supply of alcoholic drinks for export has grown at an annual rate of 5.2%.
