Belarus is set to see an increase in alcoholic drink consumption and export over the next five years. Consumption of alcoholic drinks in Belarus is expected to reach around 170,000 metric tons by 2026. This is an increase of 0.6% from the 2021 figure of 161,500 metric tons. Demand for alcohol in Belarus has decreased 1.5% year-on-year since 2017. The Czech Republic overtook Belarus to become the 16th largest consumer in 2021. India, Japan and Russia were ranked second, third and fourth respectively. Belarusian exports of alcoholic beverages are forecast to reach $291 million by 2026. This is a 3.2% increase from the 2021 figure of $240 million. Export supply has increased 11.1% year-on-year since 2003.
