Serbia is projected to see a modest increase in alcoholic drink consumption over the next five years. By 2028, consumption is expected to reach approximately 72,000 metric tons, up from around 71,000 metric tons in 2023. This represents an average annual growth rate of 0.3%. Since 2019, the country's demand for alcoholic beverages has grown at the same yearly rate. In the global context, Serbia ranked 29th in alcoholic drink consumption in 2023. Argentina was slightly ahead, also recording consumption at about 71,000 metric tons. Leading the rankings were India, Japan, and Russia, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots respectively. On the export front, Serbia's alcoholic drink market is also set for growth. The country's exports are forecasted to reach nearly $290 million by 2028, up from approximately $260 million in 2023. This translates to an average annual growth rate of 1.7%. Since 2010, Serbian exports in this sector have consistently grown by the same rate each year.
