Austrian berry production is projected to decline significantly over the next five years. By 2028, output is expected to drop to approximately 5,600 metric tons, down from around 7,300 metric tons in 2023. This represents an average annual decrease of 4%. The decline in production is part of a longer-term trend observed since 2005, with Austrian berry supply decreasing by an average of 0.7% each year. In 2023, Austria ranked 15th in global berry production. Lithuania took the lead with 7,300 metric tons, while Serbia, Spain, and Portugal secured the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively.
