French demand for cocoa is on the rise. Over the next five years, the country is expected to import 173 million kilograms of cocoa, a 0.8% increase from 2021. Since 1999, French demand for cocoa has risen 2% every year. For 2021, France was the seventh-largest importer of cocoa, with 164.6 million kilograms. Indonesia overtook France to become the largest importer at the same time. The United States, Malaysia and Germany were the second, third, and fourth-biggest importers, respectively.
