Consumption of honey in Tanzania is forecast to drop slightly to 27 thousand metric tons by 2026. This follows a 0.9% decrease in demand between 2021 and 2026, with the country ranking 11th in 2021. Canada topped the rankings with 28 thousand metric tons, followed by the United States, Germany and Iran. Meanwhile, Tanzanian honey production is expected to reach 33 thousand metric tons by 2026, rising by 0.6% year on year. This marks an increase of 0.8% since 1966, when the country ranked 14th in this category, with Hungary overtaking in 2021 with 31 thousand metric tons. Canada, Argentina and Iran were the next three countries in the rankings.
