Consumption of honey in Portugal is expected to remain at 9,000 metric tons in the next five years. Since 2017, Portuguese demand has been steady. In 2021, the country placed 27th in the world ranking, with the Netherlands topping the chart at 9,000 metric tons. The United States, Germany and Iran followed respectively. Portuguese honey production is projected to reach 12,150 metric tons in 2026, up 1.3% from 11,250 metric tons in 2021. Since 1966, Portuguese supply has declined by 4.6% year-on-year. The country was 31st in the 2021 ranking, with Bulgaria at the top with 11,250 metric tons, followed by Canada, Argentina and Iran.
