Cypriot honey production is set to reach 725,000 metric tons by 2026. This marks an average annual growth rate of 1.7% since 1966, when the country's supply was just 21.6% of what it is today. In 2021, Cyprus placed 93rd in the global rankings, behind Bolivia, which produced 655,000 metric tons of honey. Canada, Argentina and Iran were the top three producers in 2021. Cypriot honey consumption hit 1 million metric tons in 2018, up from 1 million the previous year. This put the country 78th in the global rankings, with Estonia just edging it out at 1 million metric tons. The US, Germany and Iran were the top three consumers of honey in 2018.
