Macedonia is projected to see a decrease in road casualties. According to estimates, by 2026, the number of people involved in road accidents is expected to drop to about 5,800 from 6,000 in 2021. This would represent a decrease of 0.4% year-on-year on average. Since 2015, the demand for road accident victims in Macedonia has been falling by 0.5% year-on-year. In 2021, the country was ranked 26th, with Slovakia coming in ahead at 6,000. Germany, Italy and Russia, respectively, took the second, third and fourth places in the ranking.
