In a significant development for the automotive sector, car registrations in Oman have seen a notable decline in 2023. The total number of registered vehicles dropped to approximately 22,900 units, a sharp decrease from the 29,450 units recorded in 2022. This represents a substantial 22.3% decline year over year. The downward trend in Omani car demand has been consistent since 2010, with a cumulative decrease of 14.4% annually. This decline has positioned Oman at the 76th spot in global car registration rankings for 2023. Lebanon has now overtaken Oman, matching the 22,900 units mark. Meanwhile, Indonesia, Austria, and Belgium have secured the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively, in this ranking.
