Nigeria is set to become a major lead exporter in the coming years. Nigerian lead exports are expected to reach $52 million by 2026, up 1.6% on average each year since 2011. Currently, exports are at $47.3 million, a 16.2% increase since 2011. In contrast, imports have been on a downward trend since 2001. Last year, they fell 17.9% to $310.9 million, down from $378.9 million in 2017 and nearly half the 2001 level. As a result, Nigeria is on track to become a major lead exporter in the near future.
