Vehicle registrations in Azerbaijan fell sharply in 2023, with figures dropping to approximately 2,920 units—down 17.3% from around 3,530 units in 2022. This decline marks a continuous downward trend for the Azerbaijani market, which has been decreasing by an average of 6.1% annually since 2010. In global rankings for vehicle registrations, Azerbaijan secured the 112th position in 2023, just behind Zambia, which recorded the same number of units. Leading the rankings were Canada, China, and Austria, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots respectively. On the production front, Azerbaijan reported no vehicle production for both 2018 and 2017, maintaining a production figure of zero units for consecutive years.
