Uganda's import of clothing accessories is projected to plummet to approximately $6,700 by 2028, down from around $20,200 in 2023. This marks an average annual decline of 17.4%. The country has experienced a consistent decrease in demand for these imports, averaging a 3% drop each year since 1999. On the export front, Uganda's performance has also seen a significant downturn. In 2018, the country's clothing accessories exports were valued at about $660, a sharp 49.3% decline from the $1,300 recorded in 2017. The trend is part of a broader pattern of decreasing supply, as Uganda's exports have fallen by nearly 40% annually since 2012.
