European Apparel Sales are projected to decline to approximately €66 billion by 2028, down from around €70 billion in 2023, marking a 0.7% annual decrease. The market has been shrinking at a rate of 0.8% per year since 2019. In 2023, Italy led the continent in apparel sales, generating €30 billion. Following Italy, Germany, France, and Spain occupied the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively. Notably, Bosnia and Herzegovina experienced a 4.5% annual growth in apparel sales, whereas Hungary saw a 5.1% yearly decline since 2019. Meanwhile, European clothing expenditure is expected to reach roughly €340 billion by 2028, slightly down from €353 billion in 2023, indicating a modest 0.2% annual growth. Since 2019, the demand in Europe has increased by 1% per year. In 2023, the United Kingdom topped the list in clothing expenditure with €73 billion. Germany, Italy, and France followed in second, third, and fourth places, respectively. Bulgaria saw a significant 11.8% annual increase in clothing expenditure, while Spain experienced a 1.3% annual decline since 2019.
