Key Market Indicators
Colombia's import of clothing accessories surged in 2018, reaching approximately $60,000. This marks a significant jump from the roughly $33,000 recorded in 2017, representing an impressive 82% increase within a single year. However, this recent growth contrasts sharply with a long-term decline observed since 1996. Over the past two decades, the country's demand for clothing accessories has plummeted by nearly 36% annually. Similarly, the supply side has not fared much better. Colombian production of clothing accessories has decreased by about 27% year on year since 1996. This downward trend highlights the challenges faced by the domestic market despite the recent uptick in imports.
