In 2018, the import of clothing accessories in the Philippines experienced a significant decline. The total import value stood at approximately $179,000, marking an 18.4% decrease compared to the $220,000 recorded in 2017. This downward trend has been consistent since 2001, with a year-on-year decrease of 34%. The export sector also faced challenges. The Philippines exported about $1,300 worth of clothing accessories in 2018, a sharp 54% drop from the $2,700 exported in 2017. Over the long term, the supply of these exports has diminished by 49.1% annually since 2001.
