In 2021, Costa Rica ranked number 56 in global shampoo import, down from 57 in 2020. China, United States and France respectively ranked numbers 1, 2 and 3 in this ranking. This is down from a peak of 148,670 kilograms in 2021, a decrease of 10.6% since 1999. Senegal overtook Costa Rica in 2021, ranking 73rd. Germany, Italy and Poland came in second, third and fourth respectively. Meanwhile, Costa Rican shampoo import is projected to grow by an average of 1.1% year on year to 4.9 million kilograms by 2026. This is up from 4.6 million kilograms in 2021 and a 2.7% rise since 1999. In 2021, Costa Rica ranked 56th in global shampoo imports, down from 57th in 2020. China topped the list, followed by the United States and France.
