The density of pharmacists in Iceland is projected to rise to 226 people per million inhabitants by 2026, according to data from 2021. This is an increase of 1.4% each year, a rate of growth that has been consistent since 2012, when the number of pharmacists in the country was 4.5% higher than it had been the year before. Iceland currently ranks 28th in the world for pharmacist density, with 207 pharmacists per million inhabitants. Luxembourg overtook Iceland in 2021, placing at 207 people per million inhabitants. France, the UK and Spain were the other top countries in this ranking, taking the second, third and fourth spots respectively.
