Tanzanian paper exports fell 16.7% to 5 million metric tons in 2021, down from 6 million metric tons in 2020. This marks the lowest level since 1997, when the supply amounted to 41.8% lower than in the previous year. Meanwhile, Tanzanian paper imports are forecast to reach 47 million metric tons by 2026, up 2.2% from 39 million metric tons in 2021. This is a slight decline since 1966, when the demand was 1.2% lower than in the previous year.
