Paper exports from Iraq dropped by 40% in 2021 compared to 2020, reaching 15 metric tons. This decrease of 31.8% since 2004 reflects the overall decline of the industry. Meanwhile, paper imports to Iraq are expected to grow steadily. By 2026, 58,890 metric tons of paper will be imported, a 3.2% increase from 2021. Since 1966, the average growth rate of imports has been 3.9% year on year.
