Hungary's export of benzene is set to reach 123 million kilograms by 2026, according to figures from 2021. This is a slight decrease of 0.1% from the previous year. Since 1998, the export of benzene has increased 1.4% each year. In 2021, Hungary was the 15th-largest exporter, with the United States in the lead with 121.98 million kilograms. India, Germany and Japan followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. In 2018, Hungary imported 3,850 kilograms of benzene - a dramatic increase of 3,540% from 2017's 105.89 kilograms. Since 1997, demand for benzene in Hungary has gone up 85.4% annually. In 2018, the country was placed 46th in benzene import rankings, with Kazakhstan ahead at 3,850 kilograms. The United States, Belgium and the Netherlands took the second, third and fourth spots respectively.
