Consumption of Millet in Afghanistan is set to rise by 4 percent year on year, reaching 17 thousand metric tons by 2026. In 2021, the country was ranked number 33, with 14 thousand metric tons. Mozambique topped the ranking, followed by Niger, Nigeria and Mali. Production of the grain in the country, however, dropped significantly in 2021, with 1,240 metric tons, compared to 2,040 metric tons in 2020. This represents a 39 percent year on year decrease. Since 1966, supply saw a decrease of 27.8 percent year on year. In 2021, Mauritania was ranked first, followed by Nigeria, China and Mali.
