Consumption of millet in Japan is forecast to remain stable over the next five years, staying at around 7,000 metric tons. This is despite the country falling to 43rd place in 2021, just behind Kazakhstan. Niger, Nigeria and Mali took the top three spots in the ranking. Meanwhile, production of millet in Japan is expected to decrease by 7.5% year on year, with the country producing 115 metric tons in 2026. This is a fall of 4.6% since 1966, with Japan now in 74th place, just behind Mexico. Nigeria, China and Mali took the top three spots in this ranking.
