Zambia's millet consumption is projected to remain stable at 10,000 metric tons through 2026. This year, Zambia ranked 38th in the world for millet consumption, just behind South Korea at 10,000 metric tons. The top three countries in the ranking were Niger, Nigeria and Mali. Meanwhile, Zambia's millet production is expected to drop by 2.9% in the same time period, to 21,200 metric tons in 2026. Since 1966, Zambian millet production has decreased by 3.4% each year. In 2021, the country was 36th in the world, slightly behind Gambia at 25,200 metric tons. The top three countries in the ranking were Nigeria, China and Mali.
