This is a decrease from the 3,610 metric tons seen in 2021, and marks a 4.6% year on year decrease since 1966. Bulgaria overtook Morocco in the 2021 ranking, coming in at number 57. Nigeria, China and Mali ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. In 2018, Moroccan millet consumption came in at 5 thousand metric tons, a slight increase from the 5 thousand metric tons seen in 2017. Morocco was number 44 in the ranking, with Japan coming ahead at 5 thousand metric tons. Niger, Nigeria and Mali came in at numbers 2, 3 and 4 respectively.
