Belgian demand for polystyrene imports is set to fall in the coming years. It is projected to reach 22.9 million kilograms by 2026, down 0.3% year on year on average. Since 2004, demand had been steadily increasing and in 2018, Belgium came in fifth in the world rankings at 11.2 million kilograms. However, France overtook the country that same year, reaching 111.8 million kilograms. China, the Netherlands and France were the next three countries in the ranking.
