Italian imports of sheep are set to reach $51 million by 2026, a drop of 3.7% year on year. In 2021, Italy ranked fifth, with Israel taking the number one spot at $64 million. Qatar, Kuwait and Israel followed, in that order. Italian sheep exports, however, saw a dramatic increase in 2017, jumping to $259,000 from $137,000 in 2016 - a rise of 89.6%. Since 1999, Italy's supply has increased by an average of 3.4% a year. In 2017, the country came in 41st place, with Botswana leading the pack at $259,000. Spain, Australia and Jordan followed.
