Costa Rica is set to import 1.02 million kilograms of potash in 2026, a 3% increase from 2021. This is a slight rise from the 1.3% seen since 1999. In 2021, Costa Rica ranked 51st in terms of imports, with Romania overtaking them at 854,960 kilograms. Belgium, France and Malaysia followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Costa Rica's potash exports showed a dramatic rise in 2017, with 5,570 kilograms being sent out compared to the 2,580 kilograms in 2016. This was a 116.2% increase. Since 1999, however, the country's exports have decreased by 16.9%.
