Key Market Indicators
Brazilian fuel exports plummeted dramatically in 2020, reaching just 64 cubic meters, a staggering 99.9% decline from the 50,130 cubic meters recorded in 2019. This sharp drop comes despite a consistent yearly growth in supply, which has surged by 26.2% annually since 1998. In contrast, Brazilian fuel imports are projected to experience a moderate decline over the next few years. Imports are expected to decrease from 294 cubic meters in 2023 to approximately 265 cubic meters by 2028, reflecting an average annual decrease of 1.7%. This trend continues a long-term decline in demand, which has fallen by 1.9% annually since 1997.
