Key Market Indicators
In 2020, Zimbabwe imported approximately one cubic meter of fuel, a notable increase from zero cubic meters in 2019. This uptick marks a significant shift in fuel import activity compared to the previous year. However, over a longer timeline, the demand for fuel in Zimbabwe has experienced a dramatic decline. Since 2013, the nation's fuel demand has dropped by about 45% annually, reflecting broader economic or policy shifts impacting fuel consumption. On the export front, Zimbabwe's fuel exports remained steady in 2016, maintaining the same volume of around 20 cubic meters as in 2015. This consistency indicates no change in export levels from the previous year. Despite this plateau, Zimbabwe's fuel supply has seen substantial growth over the past decades. Since 1997, the country's fuel supply has surged by roughly 82% per year, underscoring significant advancements in fuel production or export capabilities.
