Vietnamese fuel exports are projected to decline slightly over the next few years, according to recent data. By 2028, exports are expected to reach approximately 7,260 cubic meters, down from around 7,420 cubic meters in 2023. This represents an annual decrease of 0.4%. This decline continues a longer-term trend observed since 1999, during which Vietnamese fuel supply has decreased by an average of 20.4% per year. On the import side, Vietnamese fuel imports are also forecasted to fall. By 2028, imports are anticipated to be about 1,240 cubic meters, down from roughly 1,520 cubic meters in 2023. This marks an annual average decrease of 3.2%. Since 2014, the demand for fuel imports in Vietnam has dropped by an average of 7.6% each year, reflecting a consistent downward trend in fuel consumption.
