Sri Lanka's fuel imports have seen a significant decline in 2023, dropping to 11 cubic meters from 16 cubic meters in 2022. This marks a 31% decrease compared to the previous year. The country has experienced a year-on-year demand reduction of approximately 20% since 1997. On the export front, Sri Lanka is projected to see its fuel exports rise to around 653 cubic meters by 2028, up from 566 cubic meters in 2023. This reflects an annual compound growth rate of 2.2%. Since 1998, the country's fuel supply has increased by about 3.3% each year.
