Maltese imports of polypropylene are forecast to decline slightly in the coming years, falling by 0.4% per year on average up to 2026. In 2021, Malta ranked 104th in the world for polypropylene imports, behind Palestine with 885,880 kilograms. Italy, Germany and Indonesia followed, ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively. Since 2001, Maltese exports of polypropylene have decreased dramatically, down by 73.3% on an annual basis. In 2018, the country ranked 104th globally, behind Botswana with 325 kilograms. South Korea, Germany and Singapore were the next highest importers, in that order.
